Celebrity’s Sidewalk Cafe Caters Spring Festival Meal

Once again, Celebrity’s Sidewalk Cafe will cater the 2011 Spring Festival Meal. Families will be able to enjoy a delicious meal including a sandwich, chips, and a drink. Families can choose to pre-order their meal by including that information on the race registration form, or they can simply purchase their meal at the Husky Hustle event.

The Celebrtity’s Meal Deals have always been delicious and well received at this event. Visitors and participants will be able to dine at the tables inside the school cafeteria. Listed below are the menu choices and prices for the 2010 Fun Run Meal.

Grilled Chicken Sandwich Meal – $6.00
Grilled Cheeseburger Meal – $5.00
Hot Diggity Dog Meal – $4.00

A big ‘Thank You’ goes to Jay and Sandy Olson for bringing Celebrities back to the 2011 Spring Festival event. Hopefully, all visitors and participants will take advantage of and enjoy this great family meal.

Welcome to the HuskyFunRun.com website. This is the official website for the 2011 Heatherstone Spring Festival. In addition to the 5k run and 1 mile fun run, we are adding a Carnival. There will be rides, games and even a dunk tank to try your skill at dunking your favorite teacher. If you would like further information, look for the Spring Festival brochure coming home in backpacks or check out this website.
The 2011 Heatherstone Spring Festival is set for Friday, April 29th. The event is open to all Heatherstone School families and to the local public. We are hoping for another successful event which combines family friendly events and healthy competition. Come join the fun by running, trying your luck at the games, ride the rides, test out the inflatables, enjoy a catered meal or shop at the silent auction. Once you have decided how you want to participate, you can choose to register and pay online or print out a form and submit your registration at school.

The Heatherstone Parent Teacher Organization sponsors the annual event. Profits from the fundraiser enrich and support all the programs at Heatherstone.

Come for one, come for some or do it all! You decide how your family wants to participate. The annual Fun Run 5K race and 1-Mile walk/jog is set for Friday, April 29^th. This year it includes a Carnival with inflatables, games and rides.
Registration for this Heatherstone School event is now open and all interested participants and community patrons can begin making plans to participate. Families can register by going to the “Registration” link on this website. You pick from the run, the carnival games and rides and/or dinner catered by Celebrity’s. You can register online with the new PayPal system or print out the form and take it to Heatherstone Elementary. Registration deadline for the fun run and Celebrity’s dinner is Friday, April 8th. Carnival rides/inflatables bracelets can be purchased at the door along with tickets for the games.

Volunteers Needed!

WE NEED YOU!!! We can use your talents to assist with this year’s Spring Festival.
The success of the event is largely dependent on the contribution of many volunteers who help conduct the event.

Listed below are the areas of need for volunteers at this time. If you’d like to help in any of the ways listed, please contact the event organizers at the “Contact” page near the
Volunteer Opportunities:

Race Course
1. Water Stations (2 groups of 5 volunteers handing out water cups to the racers as they run by on the 5K route)
2. Course Monitors (A minimum of 16 volunteers needed to direct runners along the way and monitoring any passing street traffic)
3. Finish Line Spotters (6 people to identify winners of the various race divisions and to pass out participation medals to the Heatherstone students who complete the race)
Food stations (4 people to pass out water, bananas and bagels to the finishers in the Post Race Tent)
Carnival Games Individuals to run the various games/inflatables and rides – some of which are listed here:

Celebrities Caterer (8 people are needed to help work in this area. Jobs include helping to check in pre-paid customers or sell new meal tickets and to help serve the meals)
Setup – (Volunteers are needed to help arrange the Silent Auction tables, carnival games, and the race start/finish line.)
Cleanup – (when the event ends, help is needed in picking up trash, putting away tables and chairs, and other miscellaneous tasks)

T-Shirt Design Contest

Once again, Heatherstone students will be choosing the T-shirt design for the 2011 Fun Run. All students were given a chance to enter the contest by creating a design for the T-Shirt. The Spring Festival Committee will be selecting the five designs to go before the student body for a vote. Students will vote for their favorite design on Friday, March 11th. The winning design will be printed on the front of Fun Run T-shirts. The winner will receive free entry into this year’s Spring Festival and a $25.00 Gift Card to Target.
