Posted by admin in Recent News and Notes

It’s now time for the 2010 Husky Hustle.  The annual Fun Run 5K race and 1-Mile walk/jog is set for Friday, April 30th.  Registration for this Heatherstone School event is now open and all interested participants and community patrons can begin making plans to participate.  The open registration period runs until Friday April 9th.  Families can register by going to the “Registration” link on this website.  There, you’ll find a PDF version of this year’s registration brochure.  Please print this off from your home computers.  Then, fill out the form and return it with your registration fee to Heatherstone School.   Runners can either mail the form and payment to school (address printed on the brochure) or have their student bring it to their teacher at school.

This year’s event is sure to be bigger and better than in past years.  Hopefully, all Heatherstone families and community patrons will plan to participate.  If you haven’t started to run or walk to get in shape for the race, there’s good news! It looks like the weather is finally becoming more spring-like and everyone can get outside to get in shape for this fun school event.

This year, there will again be a catered meal by Celebrities Sidewalk Café, a set of carnival games, and stage entertainment featuring local talent.  The addition of the Silent Auction will surely be a great source of excitement for everyone looking for some great values.  Please review the other pages on this website for more complete information.  If you have any questions, please contact race organizers at the phone or email address listed under the “Contact” page on this site.

Thanks, and we look forward to seeing you on the 30th of April!

The feature event of the2010 Husky Hustle is the 5K road race and the 1-Mile family walk/run.  The annual Heatherstone School event is not just for runners and those who enjoy exercising outdoors during what will hopefully be a beautiful springtime evening.
The Fun Run brings the entire Heatherstone Community together.  The success of the event is largely dependent on the contribution of many volunteers who help conduct the evening activities.  Currently, the Fun Run Committee is seeking volunteer help in a variety of areas.  If you can’t run, volunteering is a great way to support the Heatherstone PTO in this annual fundraising effort.  In the end, the students of Heatherstone School will benefit from your volunteer contribution.

Listed below are the areas of need for volunteers at this time.  If you’d like to help in any of the ways listed, please contact the event organizers at the “Contact” page near the top of this website.  This is a great time for groups of people to get together to volunteer.  Perhaps a scout group, a Bunko group, or a sports team could decide to work together.  All Heatherstone families are welcome and encouraged to put in a little time helping to make the Husky Hustle a success.
